Description
The plans are packed with detail and information, Richard has gone to great efforts to ensure the outlines of the design are true-to-scale, these are probably the most accurate set of construction plans yet available for the Lockheed Vega. Richard’s original model built exactly to this plan took first place in the Open Rubber class at the UK Indoor Nationals and at the International Fly-In in Nijmegen, Netherlands.
The model has a wingspan of 24.5 inches. It is designed to fly free flight using rubber power, but would convert very nicely to electric free flight using the Zombie speed controller, Voodoo 25 motor and 130mAh LiPo cell. It would also fly well as a park flyer with micro radio control using throttle (a slightly more powerful engine will be needed, like the Parkzone P-51 unit), aileron and elevator control. No conversion details are shown on the plan but this would be a simple task for the experienced builder.
